Our last general meeting was May 21st, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Mr P's in LeMars, Iowa. We had enough money in our treasury to provide pizza at this meeting again. (not the drinks though) We also elected new officers for the upcaoming year. Gary Troth was elected to the V. President position. Bob Cooper will move up to the President of the SOA for this yeasr. Jenni Malsam was re-elected to the secretary position, George Davidson was re-elected to the treasurer position. Terry McMillen will move to the Out Going President position, and he will replace Mark Wetz.
Our next business meeting will be August 19th, (Wednesday) at North High School starting at 7:00 PM. Please plan to attend this fall meeting as it will be the beginning of a lot of sports for the next school year. Lots of information on assignor and breakout sessions. Dues will start for the 2009-2010 season at this meeting. Please make your checks to the SOA for $30.00
NOTICE TO VOLLEYBALL OFFICIALS: South Sioux City is hosting a volleyball league on Sunday evenings. Any official wishing to use this as an opportunity to improve your skills can contact Laura Crowe to work some of these games. If you are aware of any perons wishing to start officiating volleyball, this would be a great opportunity to train and mentor those people. If you wish to have a veteran official help in training, please call Jenni Malsam at 712-898-6548 to arrange time for assistance and observation.
The SOA now has 119 members, of which all but 21 have paid there annual dues. Anyone that has not sent the 2008/2009 dues ($30.00), please do so as soon as possible. Email notices have been sent to members that have not paid dues for the current year. Please respond as soon as possible.
THANK YOU TO ALL THAT DONATED THEIR TIME TO THE BRIAR CLIFF BASKETBALL CAMP THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 19-20. BRIAR CLIFF MAKES A NICE DONATION TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR YOUR TIME SPENT AT THE CAMP. THANK YOU ROYCE RANNIGER FOR GETTING THE OFFICIALS TO WORK THIS CAMP. IT IS ALWAYS A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN AND WORK WITH VETERAN OFFICIALS. IT WAS NICE TO A SEE A NEW FACE OR TWO....SEEMS AS THOUGH WE ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME OFFICIALS EVERY YEAR...IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A FEW MORE OFFICIALS TO HELP WITH THIS CAMP.
